New kit @ SBG!! (BAD blogger!!)

Hi!

Oooh...long time no post (smacked wrists :)) - soooorrry!! What can I say... chirstmas...etc

Well anyhoo - here I am and lets forgive and forget huh? Ok, onto news - here's my newest kit at Studio Liz @ SBG "Vintage Flourish". I got inspired by the still shots on the TV channel "Dave" here in the UK (look - you don't quibble about where the inspration comes from right? You're just glad to get it!!). Well the aim was something retro and contemporary but as it evolved the kit got a little too classic and lost its edge for me...but that's just the way it goes! I'll try to scrap it in a more contemporary way if i get time.

There's also a little Valentine add on - couldn't resist what with all the pink and red floating around LOL!

And here's my lo with the kit - finally scrapped a photo of our wedding (that's what happens when your wedding photos are all pre-digital!). My thoughts are "WOW! We look young and a whole heap thinner!"..

New link for freebie...

Well golly - that went quick!!

So seeing as it's christmas and all...here's a new link to get it again! (awww, I'm all heart huh?!)

Friday freebie...well almost!!

Helloooo! Been so busy again making cakes for preschool nativity concert - made about 5 dozen (um, that'll be 60!) mini fairy cakes to put in poly bags...looked really pretty tied with curling ribbon. No photos tho as just wanted to get shot of them by the time they were made. All went in a flash of course :)

Well, I'm just here to let you know about my Friday Freebie - but it's saturday morning here...sorry! I just put together a little mini kit using my Op Art Grunge Overlays available now at Studio Liz over at SBG. Somehow the colours are all vanilla, chocolate and pink frosting...hmmm...I wonder why?! LOL

There are 4 papers, 3 staple flowers, 3 doodle flowers, 2 paper flowers, 1 ribbon and 1 button + staple stitch. Hope you enjoy using it? Click on image to go to download page...

New Overlays @ Studio Liz

Hi all!

Just wanted to say "hello" - been quiet on the blog front OOPS! No seriously, life's been busy leading up to christmas and my Grandma passed away last week, so not been a great time for finding time to do this!

Anyway, just wanted to say that my new overlays sets have come out at Studio Liz @ SBG. Op Art Overlays are 3 coordinating set of 6 transparent patterned page overlays (12x12, 300ppi) designed for you to create your own papers from. The patterns are (of course!) all seamless and feature circles/ogees/dots/flowers/weaves in retro style optical patterns.

You can use them simply by overlayingonto a solid background and recolournig/adjusting opacity or find more complex ways of incorporating htem into a page by dropping into selections, using multiple patterns, adjusting scale and opacity or changing blend modes to taste...gosh! A whole world of fun awaits you!!:)

Well here they are along with a couple of examples of quick papers i made to show how they might be used...Hope you like?!

PS Grungey version also coming out soon!!

And here's a little lo I did with the Hand Made Hols kit - just had soooo much fun doing this one :) Found this precious photo of one of dd's little friends at our Christmas Nativity a year or two ago. He just looks adorable as an "angelic shepherd" !! I'm sure I'll get more photos to scrap very soon as this year's play appraoches...

New Kit...Hand MadeChristmas @ SBG

After trying really hard not to succumb to the hype and do something festive...well, I did!!

So here's a preview of my newest kit at Studio Liz at SBG - Hand Made Holidays. I'd say it's got a gentle christmas theme without being really "in your face" festive :) and it's designed to be a real hotchpotch of eclectic bits and bobs which add up to make a truly handcrafted look. There's some tweed, canvas, embroidery, torn edges, doodles and newsprint - just working on the alpha now! Oh, and if you like your tree fairy to look like she's eaten a slice too many of christmas pudding - then this is for YOU!

Hope you like it...please post links to your lo's if you use any bits so I can see them.

Cakes, cakes.. and more cakes!!

Phew!! Not had a whole heap of time to be designing in the past few days as I've been making a million cakes! Had to make a HUGE batch to sell (trying to raise money for the toy library I run at a local community centre) then made another coffee cake for pre-school meeting at my house last night...

Then I got thinking - would really love to get cakes somewhere in designs...? Hmmm - I did some stuff when I was working in Lyon which I'll have to dig out and scan in, but for now we'll just have to make do with some piccies I've found.

Saw some crochetes caks very like this in a shop window last week - they were soooo gorgeous and I really want to make some (if I ever have the time!).

All the fun with no calories!!

Whilst looking, I found this site Cake Sachets which is a lady making crocheted cakes to sell for charity - they're just so pretty!! She even has free patterns to make your own...off to the wool shop this afternoon I think :)

Freebie...coming soon!

Hi!

Just thought I'd share a sneak preview of my Mint Frost Alpha - a freebie to complement my new kit at Studio Liz...

Should be available in a day or two :)

Lizzie

HELLO!!

Hello!!

Well this is the first entry in my new blog – Lizzielongstocking...basically this is my digital design blog and hopefully you'll travel the ups and downs of a fledgling commercial designer with me. I'm a SAHM mum from the UK who studied Textiles at Art College. I was an Art Teacher before stopping work to start a family...now I'm here...doing this!

I hope you'll have time to check out my store at scrapbookgraphics – I'm now the studio girl intern and I am sooooo excited to get this opportunity!! I don't have loads of products in atm, but please bear with me as I'm aiming to upload at least one new product a week so things should be regularly changing...watch that space!

My newest kit, Mint Frost, has been in a week or so and is proving popular. It's a gentle, grungy winter kit in icy tones of turquoise and duck-egg blue. The main motif is a stylised snowflake and it appears in the papers, ribbons and elements in various sizes and forms – and if you simply have to have some glitter to feel truly frosty, then there's a little sprinkle here and there for you :)

PLUS...the spotty alpha will be offered exclusively here as a freebie very shortly...

Here's a preview and the first lo's I've done with it...hope you like?

Be seeing you soon...
